Building a More Inclusive Future for Chicago’s Evaluation Field

The Pathways Initiative is a program and collaborative to strengthen the diversity of the Chicago area evaluation field by increasing the recruitment, training and retention of culturally responsive and equity-focused evaluators of color.


Program Structure

Pathways offers two cohorts each year:

Spring cohort beginning in February
Fall cohort beginning in September

Each cohort includes six weeks of interactive workshops followed by eight weeks of optional one-on-one evaluation coaching.


Program Impact

Since its launch, the Emerging Evaluator Program has:

Supported 7 cohorts

Graduated 78 participants

Served 53organizations


Who Should Apply?

Open to evaluators of color reflecting the diversity of the Chicago region—including African American/Black, Latina/o/x/e, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian American, Middle Eastern or North African, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, and/or multiracial (ALANA). Applicants should be providing evaluation or data support at their organizations with little or no formal evaluation training.
